What Is Power Flushing? Signs Your Heating System Needs It

The short version

Power flushing circulates cleaning solution through your hydronic system to remove sludge, rust, and air. Clean water transfers heat better and protects pumps and valves.

Signs it is time

  • Cold spots in radiators or in-floor loops

  • Noisy boiler or pump

  • Dirty water when you bleed a radiator

  • Frequent venting and pressure swings

What we do during a flush

We isolate the system, connect a pump and filters, add cleaner, and circulate until the water runs clear. We flush each zone, add inhibitor, and bleed air. We check expansion tank charge and controls.

What to expect after

Quieter operation, better heat transfer, and fewer callouts for air locks and sticky valves. Old equipment will not turn new, but it will run closer to design.

When a replacement makes more sense

If the boiler is cracked, leaking, or beyond parts support, we will price a swap and explain the options.
